WELCOME TO ALL YOU MOTOR SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS

The content of this section of the site is to give you an insight into the history of one of the UKs best known Race Car Competitors, his competition background, events, results, accidents and the future events he will be competing in.

At present the year is 2006,he has competed in over 1100 events winning 576 in various diciplines such as CIRCUIT RACING,SPRINTING and HILLCLIMBING with brief forays of old into MINICROSS and RALLYCROSS.

LORD CHRIS FULKE-GREVILLE was born into a Motor Sport family in 1951,his Father Peter being a founder member of the BARC,NOTTINGHAM SORTS CAR CLUB and founder of the MOTOR RACING OFFICIALS REGISTER.
Life for Chris in the 50s and 60s was exciting, not only did he travel with his Father to all the best meetings every weekend he got to meet the very finest drivers such as SURTEES,BRABHAM,MOSS,HILL,HULME,GOTT in a social enviroment when they came to the house.
To this day Chris’s eyes will light up when he heres these names, always paying them respect and acknowledging their various driving techniques.

I learnt to drive at a very early age,I remember once my Father saying “Right Son,Swap sides and back home you go”,we where in Northampton at the time in Dads Healey.I drove all the way back to Nottingham at the age of 12,now you can see where the rebellious streak came from.

I remember my Father working with various other parties to get the track License for Donnington Park in the early 60s,they ran GO KARTS to begin with and I entered various races held on a small part of the circuit, the Go Kart was Bloody awful,45mph,no brakes and engineering that left a lot to be desired.

It was 1970 I joined Henley Motor Club and decided to do Mini Cross,I prepared an old MINI COOPER and used it to the extreme in events at various venues in the South of England.I didnt do too bad got into the top three a few times but as money was an issue,in other words I had none, my Mini could have been better.
Over the next 3 to 4 years I managed to get throu 27 Coopers and Cooper S machines, modifying the later versions into National Rallycross spec, some I sold at a profit.
I was invited to be part of a Team called TOAD HALL,members included Griff Grifith,Dick Grifith,Tony Stubbs,we did numerous rounds in Southern Championships occasionally we went to Wimbledon Speedworth to do battle with the Hot Rods, there was some big names in these series, GREAT FUN!! I ended my Mini days mid 1970s,winning a TEAC championship

1978 Marriage was on the Horizon and Motor Sport took a back seat, well for a month or two anyway and before you ask,YES I am still married to the most understanding half a competitor can have, you too should have this Model.

My next phase was to get something more serious,so I purchased an Ex London to Sydney FORD ESCORT MK1 Rally Car,Wide arch Gomm shell,1840 Twin Cam motor,200bhp running L1 cams,Quaife and 5-1 Axle ratio. This car was a live wire and it took me some time to master, top speed was only 110mph but getting up there was very quick.
It was so quick that in a particular invite event at a drag venue my humble little Escort was eating the tmes of the big V8 engined cars there. They started to take notice and several people where actually taking bets that I would make it to the final.
The final was between two cars, myself and a chap called Trevor Reeves in a RALLYCROSS 16 valve highly modified space framed Mini.We had three runs,he won two by a hundreth of a second,Well done Trevor your car was QUICK.
